It all helps I guess. A quick scroll down reveals the following about companies local to me:

BC Hydro - Encourages managers to hire skilled newcomers within a specific career path plan, starting them at junior-level positions First part great, second not so.

Rescan - Recognizes international work experience - I'm glad that 15yrs of my work life wasn't entirely wasted. If that's a plus point to get into Canada's top 40, doesn't say much for the rest.

To be fair though Provincial Health & Telus go a lot further than most.
