Canada Permanent Resident and STudent visa

Hi,
I am an Indian citizen presently in US on job visa and have applied for canadian immigration under independent category
(skilled worker) at Buffalo.Can I come to canada as a student while my application is under process at the Canadian consulate at
Buffalo? Will it affect my application process for permanent
immigration to canada?

Being as a student may jeopardize your application for PR.
The visa officer may *suppose* your intentions are only to study and not getting a
job or establishing residence.
My advise is to wait some months and study after you get your Permanent
Resident status.
