Default Canada Magazine

Not sure if it has been posted on here yet but it seems a new magazine is out called Canada Magazine.

It's actually an interesting read. More so for those who are blindly walking into the emigrating mindset.

I've attached a scan of the front cover for those interested.

I had a chance to read through a copy last week and I agree - it is actually really good! Definately worth a read. I didn't think to look how often it is published though? Any ideas?

Is it better than Canada news? I had a years subscription with that back in 94, it all seemed to be mixture of positive and negative BS towards emmigrating to Canada. There were happy stories and sad ones, and plenty of immigration agents/specialists advertising in it.

Where do you get it from? is it subscription only?

reading the editors intro, it implies it will be monthly.

It gives an insight to different provinces, cities/towns, events, jobs, foodies, shipping goods, culture, stuff like that.

For example, this one focuses on the Saskatchewan province, Vancouver, Quebec's colourful markets, Canadian property, and the cuisine of Nova Scotia.

My sister bought it for my belated birthday pressie for a laugh and she lives in Harpenden, Herts so i guess she bought it from either a supermarket or a newsagents there.

It would appear that it also has an associated web site.

Good to hear a positive opinion! The media kit on the publishers website says it's bi-monthly. First issue is for June/July. Costs £3.99, although the current subscription deal looks excellent value, at £12 for 6 issues.

Cheers.

I've seen a copy, quite a few mistakes but also quite good. Available in all major retailers i.e. WHSmith, Tesco's, etc, I believe.

They're also doing an exhibition in September in London.

I noticed a few differences in information between the magazine, here, and CIC site.

Still, for those who are in the process, it'll keep the spirits up i guess.

I was thinking more basic mistakes i.e. columns headed 'News from Down Under' as they haven't bothered to adjust the copy from the Aussie version!

Still, as you say, worth a read for those in the process.

Aaaah. Didn't pay too much attention to that. I noticed mistakes in their advice and/or immigration material.

Yep, few of those too! First issue though, so I'm sure they'll perfect it as they go along.

Good to read the feedback on here , Relocation Nova Scotia took a full Page ad, expensive business never sure what our customer base is looking for and whether its worth advertising in every issue?
the first issue had Nova Scotia promoted in it...also wondering if anyone would like to read info about everyday issues regarding their fears and concerns about emigrating, what their kids are going through and how they will cope with the moving experience...?
We found the emigrate shows in UK had a real decline in attendance and most people were were still trying to figure out where they wanted to go.

Picked myself up a copy today from WHSmith - a good read with some interesting articles. Good for those about to embark on the road to emigrate, or like us are at the later stages.
