As everyone else has said there is no access to UK TV through BBC/ITV but you can listen to BBC radio which I do - very strange listening to the UK traffic news but gives you a taste of home! Radio 2 all the way!

I watched England play Wales in the rugger live on BBC1, free, via FilmOn.com.

You really should put that kind of information in a separate thread, with the word spoiler in the title. I hate rugby, I think its gay, but there are plenty of people on here who'll watch it on delay.

I only associate that sort of thing with sports forums.
I shall be more careful in future.
Perhaps a mod can amend it. I'll PM one.

So do you hate it because it's joyous and lively; merry; happy; lighthearted,
bright; brilliant gay colors, given to social life and pleasures, a gay life?
Or because you believe it's wanton, licentious and full of large men having homosexual sex with each other?

This is where I found the online radio stations. ( Link )
The one I have mainly been listening to is one that is based in Quebec. The best time to listen is at the weekend as that is when they play non stop music. However I have found that I have learned how to access the archives, so I am able to listen to music during the week (though you cannot see the names of the songs like you can when you are listening to the live show) ( Link )
I have discovered a lot of great new music. I have also heard rock songs sung in French which I have never heard before. I have downloaded some really funky songs as a result.
I hope that helps

I've just gone for this for the BBC iPlayer: http://strongvpn.com/
The one to go for is the “3 City Special” at $55 USD per year (yes, per year
). You have a choice of UK server locations; London, Manchester, Nottingham, Livingston, etc. and you can switch between them if you're not happy with the streaming speed.
Quick tip - to avoid interruptions to your viewing, I've found you get the best results when you download programmes to the iPlayer Desktop in preference to streaming.

I have got FILMON - had it for a few weeks and it works fine - but the 8hr time diff is a pain!
We have a VPN and download the stuff we want from BBC, Itv etc and then watch later - I find it better to downlaod and watch later than try to watch off the i [player- is stutters a bit!

I use I player with Hide IP software http://www.hide-ip-soft.com/ which work pretty well on downloads.
Recently I have been having a problem with not being able to watch programmes I have already downloaded.
At the moment I have about ten downloaded programmes six of which in the download window on I player are dull and not highlighted and will not play when you click on them. I don’t think its time related as the two episodes that I downloaded today will not play. Any ideas?

THE ANSWER IS YES. I found a way to get arround it and wrote an ebook on it which as a general rule I sell on my website.
However, anyone using this site who has moved from the UK to Canada, can send me a PM and I will send them a free copy.
I would put it up on here, but the last time I tried to advertize it got took off

When we were in Vancouver in March/April, the proxy and firefox/script solution worked a charm. No problems with speed, iPlayer for free.
