More than 2 pence.

A more accurate estimate might depend on
a) how big is your family ?
b) where do you want to fly to? and
c) the number and species of your animals. e.g budgies are cheaper than horses.

HTH.

Hi

Just wanted to reply as bringing my dog over here was the most heart wrenchng thing i did, right before we came i was so nervous she is a staffie cross rhodesian ridgeback, even when i arrived at Heathrow on the day with her i thought we were going to be sent away, however we flew with Air Canada heathrow to calgary and from start to finish they were brilliant so helpful, my little girl was treated so well, they let me check in earlier than everyone else, let me keep her with me until an hour before take off.

It really is the most stressful part of relocating, however i was so lucky on a arrival in Canada she was sitting in her crate at the baggage hold looking traumatised however think she was just stressed.

If you need to know anything contact me

By the way everyone here thinks a staffie is a pitbull which is quite annoying I keep explaining to people that they are two completely different breeds and that pitbulls are banned in UK, I am a nurse also...............

You know the saying, 'if it walks and looks like a pit bull, then it is a pit bull' Pit Bulls don't have a good street cred for obvious reasons

There are loads of dogs in this country that need a good home

If i had the resources I would have a house full of pit bulls well maybe not literally, my plan for the future is to search for a compatible buddy for my girl, will be going down the rescue centre route or cesar milan if possible as I would like Junior ( his puppy pitbull)

Cesar Milan you say? Well, after the rumours flying around and his wife leaving him over it, you might want to look elsewhere

Cesar Milan is a pr*ck. Get a dog from someone who loves them, not bullies them.

I would also disagree that importing a horse is cheaper than importing a budgie. I've just started looking into how to get my African Grey over there. *gulp* Apart from the pre/post import tests, quarantine and shipping costs, he needs to be "accompanied" by the owner, and the QM2 doesn't take parrots, so an extra set of flights are required just for him.

Have already spoke with an immigration attorney, who has told me that Canada is desperate for British trained nurses??
Anyone have any experience on this matter before I part with hundreds of pounds? Any recommendations of what company is the best to use to get visas sorted?
Why not train to be a nurse in Canada if you're thinking of living there?

I should point out that what I actually suggested (tongue in cheek) was the opposite. I should also point out that a parrot, whether African Grey or Norwegian Blue, is not a budgie.

On the other hand, we certainly need more parrot threads on here. Budgies are not very funny.

I am all of a quiver and agog...do we have somebody proposing a cruise with a parrot? Be still my beating heart, and bring it ON!

Hi Kate, be very wary of immigration attorney's, consultants or relocation specialist telling about your job prospects. They are all after your money in one way shape or form. A relative of mine moved over to NS 2 years ago with15 years experience in the NHS, and was promised the earth by everyone. Yes getting into the country was the easy part. The difficult part has been getting her qualifications verified, every different department through the process has wanted either the same or differing info, and there are charges at every turn. She needs to sit exams to prove her knowledge and time is running out for now. I'm not sure if there is a nursing forum on here, but if there is, I would look there for more info and people with more knowledge.
