can anyone help us?

:confused:We have just had a letter from london asking for our passports,we are at the last hurdle now,we went through the pnp in british columbia, and my partner has been offered a job in grand forks. What we were woundering is when we get our permanent residency is there a rule that says you have to stay with that company for so long or could we go where ever we want when we get there .I know it is cruel but by the time we get there and with the exchange rates we want be able to live in british columbia at this rate we will still be in the possition we are in now and struggling just to put food on the table let alone anything else.I am hoping someone has gone on the pnp and will be able to help us.:thumbsup:

Once you have PR all bets are off and you can go to a different employer/ location. Until you have PR in hand you are effectively tied to one employer unless you can wangle a new work permit.

If its a provincial sponsorship PR its possibly a bit sticky though, in theory they could say you had no intention of staying within the province and rescind your PR, but the reality is that after three years you qualify for citizenship anyway, and at the point that is granted you can certainly go anywhere you want. I am not aware of anyone losing PR as a result of hopping provinces after pR was granted through the pnp process, but maybe its best to ask in "immigration", where the experts lurk.

If its just a straight federal PR application then there is no obligation to stay in a certain province.
