I totally agree with my colleages in other provincies about it being hard work and little pay. Of course the sellers say we get too much, but after you take out all your costs there is not much left.

As in economic situations 90% of money is earned by 10 % of the people. I know some realtors who have not done a deal this year. There are three type of realtors, one who works as the wage earner and has to work really hard to get an income, the others (mainly women) who do it as a second income and thus if they do not have a deal it is no big hardship and the third who has it as a main wage but can not make enough and have second jobs.

Thats not an option here in Winnipeg, as we are not allowed to earn an income from other work, its a bit of a 2 edged sword, though it does make it difficult to enter the business, those who are in it are pretty professional and dedicated.

We are allowed to have investments in other business's but we are not allowed to be involved in the "day to day" operation or running of the business. Though we can volunteer for no pay.
