Anyway the question was not whether cancer rates are high in Calgary compared to Australia. I do think though that simply because Canada is not a "hot" country, the UV dangers can be overlooked. I mean, it's obvious when its 30 degs C or more for a lot of the year, that you do the slip-slap-slop thing. Not so obvious when it's -15 outdoors, but the UV dangers are still there! Check out the weird suntan marks of regular skiers!! Here is a link to everything you want to know about UV from Environment Canada And a link to the forecast UV map for today across Canada (assuming a clear sky) and one for selected locations in text format which takes into account actual conditions.
