I did nearly 4 years in Calgary and have been working there on and off for nearly 20 years. I was so ready to leave, I felt it was like Milton Keynes with mountains. After awhile the lack of places to escape to and the two seasons got to me.

Halifax, NS I love, people easy going, coastal living and a better variety of things to do and see. Yes less work opportunities, day to day cost I think are the same even cheaper until you add the tax. For me this was off set by purchasing a house for $280,000 as opposed to $450,000.

For me a day on the beach, seeing varied wildlife, eating lobsters, down to earth festivals and people who want to chat your ear off followed by sitting on a secluded deck with a wine in a wooded lot beat a long winter in suburbia.

My opinion everybody has their own take, I am happier!!!!!

hmm what a persuasive post, i can just picture it!
seems like popular opinion says calgary though. time to check out flights for a go see i think. thanks everyone for advice
