Calgary / Edmonton members
Hi guys
It looks like the planning for our recce trip has started. The dates are looking like 22nd July we arrive in Calgary and leave on 5th August. We will also be spending a few days at Edmonton 27th until 29th July. If anyone would like to offer us any advice or even better would like to meet up that would be fantastic. :) Please get in touch and we can start getting to know each other first. |

Re: Calgary / Edmonton members
I'm not sure if I'll be in town (meaning Calgary) at the time of your visit, Cassie. If I am, I'd be glad to get together, either as part of a group thing or one-on-one.
I'll keep track of this thread and state closer to the time whether I'll be here or not. I fear that, if no one takes the bull by the horns and mentions at least a tentative time / date, there's a danger that the whole thing will just muddle along and never get traction. So I'm going to wade in and make a suggestion. How about late afternoon / evening on Friday, 25th July for the Calgary get together (GTG)? It would be feasible for some people to go out for a drink after work on Friday, and those who can't join the group right after work might be able to join in later in the evening. If you tried to hold it the following Friday, 1st August, you might find that several forum members will be leaving town, as it's the start of a public holiday long weekend (4th August being Alberta Heritage Day). As to a venue, how about Kensington Pub? So, Cassie, how does Kensington Pub on Friday evening, 25th July sound to you? x |
Re: Calgary / Edmonton members
Where are you planning on living. Red Deer is nice. Do you have a job already?

Hi,
As RedDeermojo suggests Red Deer is worth a stop off to have a looksee. Red Deer has been fantastic for us. If your not used to Big City living it could be the ticket for you too. |
Re: Calgary / Edmonton members
Hi Cassie
We have talked before a few times :). I have to agree with Piff Poff and reddeerMojo, Red Deer is great if you want a smaller city. I can't make Calgary because my Dad and Step Mum will be here but you will drive straight by Red Deer when you drive to Edmonton we would be happy to meet up for a drink or meal if my off duty fits in with your plans. I will pm you with our telephone number if you would like. Julie |
Re: Calgary / Edmonton members
Hi,
Good luck planning the trip. We're in Edmonton - in fact we'll be living in St Albert by then. We're up for coffee or perhaps a picnic lunch in one of the parks. Nikki, Ian & Thomas |

Hey Cassie
Wife and I are newcomers to Calgary, been here two months, if you fancy a drink and a chat you can always PM us. Or if a meet and greet is set up we would love to tag along, Kensington is a nice idea! ...or if anyone else fancies meeting up who is already in 'Calgree' drop me a quick PM!!. we're pretty easy going ;) |
Re: Calgary / Edmonton members
Firstly I would like to give you all a big thank you for getting in touch with me either by PM or through this thread.
The dates may change as these were pin point dates that I have given the company to start the ball rolling with. I think there might be problems with the flights being full which is understandable (short notice) The dates can be arranged nearer the time. Judy's suggestion of a group meet at Kensington Pub is fine and we can arrange that also if it is more convienient with people. Must find out where it is though :o I will be replying to all of you who have contacted me already and I will keep checking this thread. Once again thank you ;) |
