For the record I'm moving to Nova Scotia and am currently, and most likely will be in Canada, on my parents insurance

engine size makes no matter, you could get a truck for a $1000 and get it insured for fire and theft. Also if you get the policy in your parents name you could go on it. Lucky for me they've just changed the law in Nova Scotia and I won't need to retake my test, but I didn't take it long ago so it shouldn't have been that hard haha
