He hates everything American, except Disney apparently. He's probably has ties to the Middle East.

The "big three". Everybody knows the Americans make really cheap and nasty cars. It's not the workers assembling them, I'm sure they are as good as any other worker on an assembly line, its the companies that design such dross.

I used to visitied many auto plants in my previous job, and Im not so sure of that! There was almost an inbuilt slacker culture at UAW plants compared to the non UAW ones.

To be fare though, things have changed, the initial quality reports for many of the vehicles made by the big three in north america are now among the best, but there is a mountain of perception to overcome now before sales will follow the same trajectory as the build quality.
