A few yrs ago I went to a scottish pub in Cambridge ON called Burns Howf. They have Tennants on draught.I had a few pints of it with the owner,I think he is called Jimmy also would you believe. Its not a beer I crave after!
A good bar in Winnipeg to go to for a meet up or whatever is Barley Bros next to Montanas behind Polo Park. They have around 70 craft beers on tap ,mostly canadian and a few from Scotland,USA and England .Some are pricey ,lowest is about $6 for 16oz and all are over 5% some 10% or more lol

And this weird (to me anyway) Manitoban custom of fundraising from your friends and just anybody really, to pay for your own wedding I cannot wrap my head around.

Personally feel there are plenty registered charities out there to donate cash to.

I have actually met two people from this forum so have tried conventional meeting methods too!
The benefit of a social over a normal meet up is that you know it's actually going to happen... if you look up this thread a bit I tried to arrange something on here with my mates Irish Dan and English Pete... I ended up having a drink with only Irish Dan and English Pete... maybe with a little bit if extra structure we might have more luck! (obviously I am motivated by errr venison too, but forming a bit of a Winnipeg expat community would be a bonus too!)

I'm not going to lie though, asking local stores for prize donations is something I will never get used to!
