British Doctors in Winnipeg

Re: British Doctors in Winnipeg
Finally, because I get locked up again in a minute .......
(& I couldn't resist this one )
An 86-year-old man walked into a crowded Doctor's Waiting Room. As he approached the desk, the Receptionist said, "Yes sir, what are you seeing the Doctor for today?" "There's something wrong with my d*ck" he replied.
The Receptionist became irritated & said, "You shouldn't come into a crowded Doctor's Room & say things like that." "Why not? You asked me what was wrong and I told you," he said.
The Receptionist replied, "You've obviously caused some embarrassment in this room full of people. You should have said there is something wrong with your ear or something & then discussed the problem further with the Doctor in private."
The man replied, "You shouldn't ask people things in a room full of others, if the answer could embarrass anyone."
The man walked out, waited several minutes & then re-entered.
The Receptionist smiled smugly & asked, "Yes?"
"There's something wrong with my ear," he stated.
The Receptionist nodded approvingly & smiled, knowing he had taken her advice. "What's wrong with your ear, Sir?" "I can't pee out of it," the man replied.
Night all..........

Well it would seem that while some people are allowed to post as fact that UK doctors are " better" without offering any evidence , I am not allowed to offer an opinion based on what is written in front of me.

When your opinion stoops into making personal comments about another then you are on thin ice.

If I discovered a British doctor in Winnipeg, I'd automatically assume he'd been struck off in Britain and was now working on the sly.

op, can you post (for me a thicky layman and not up to date with what exams doctors in differing countries need to take) at what point Canadian doctors stop their training, and then how far after this does the British system go?
Because if this really were the case - and it were general knowledge - wouldn't all doctors in Canada be trained in the UK, and then get filthy rich seeing as they are able to diagnose quicker, which I would think would be a massive benefit to getting a client base????

Doctors in Canada are usually paid on a fee for service basis -by the number of patients they see not the number of patients they have on their books. So the more often they see you the more they get paid. (Generally, in the main, bound to be exceptions etc etc)

You see, maybe the OP has a point. A system that rewards incompetence will lead to it being filled with people that are just that.
