Hi, me(cheryl) and my partner (Garry) are planning to migrate to BC canada this year. Has anypone imigrated through the PNP ? Is anyone living in Kelowna or Vernon- would love to hear all about these places? Cheryl

Welcome to BE. There are a few member in that neck of the woods. Have you already applied through PNP or is this somethign your thinking about? There is a lot of info in the Canada Immigration section of the Wiki on PNP as well.

Hi, we are just deciding which legal representative to use to apply through the PNP route. Would be really good to hear from someone that has already imigrated via PNP?

You don't need a legal representative. The employer that is sponsoring you does most of the paperwork. However, if you feel you need one then why not ask the employer for a recommendation?

Hi, I arrived in BC via the PNP, and have been here for almost 18 months. I did all the paperwork myself - it was simple and painless. Is there a particular reason you are considering a legal representative?
Once you have the PNP acceptance - you still need to apply for a TWP or PR.

Welcome to the forum - like minimeeze has said me and hubby have als gone through PNP we originally came on TWP well i did as im a nurse and hubby got a SOWP, i had to have been working for 3 months before i could apply, my employer sent me the application pack 99% of which goes towards your application for permanent residency, completing the pack was very easy and straight forward there really is no need fora representatives unless your situation is quite complicated. we got our PNP within 3 weeks, we applied for PR a few months ago again most of the paperwork was done just had to get our police checks re-done as theyre only valid for 3 months. my employer paid the fees for me and hubby for the PNP which i wasnt expecting but was very grateful for that.

were also in abbotsford have just had our 1 year canniversary as they say and loving it.

I thought you had to be employed at least nine months with the same employer and apply together for the BC PNP?? :confused:

Has this changed, I only look a few days ago? Can you really apply first then apply for the TWP?

I applied for the BCPNP from the UK. I had to sit exams in Vancouver first and prove that I was eligibe to work in BC. I'm a midwife, and there is a seperate application package for midwives so maybe it's different for other jobs??

I didn't use a Lawyer, it is all very easy. I am just waiting for my passports back and fly out on the 17th July. Infact I applied for a TWP and PR via PNP and the PR has come through, haven't heard anything for the TWP for months!

You can see my timeline, I am going as a Midwife and that did confuse the PNP peeps for a bit but it was sorted soon enough and all dealt with via email.

Don't waste your money on a lawyer!

Welcome to BEP's we arrived via the PNP route without legal assistance, relatively straightforward.

We are in Kamloops about 160km from Kelowna by car. We love it here, recently had to travel to Kelowna for nursing exams (2 days) and though nice it was very busy, traffic volume considerable, so happy we are here instead easy to get everywhere. The scenery in Kamloops is in our opinion breathtaking. Passed through Vernon on route, seemed larger than expected but didn't stop!

Do you actually understand what PNP is? Your two posts makes me think not.
