Bringing over the smaller items
Maybe this Q is daft but here goes.
What is the best way to get your smaller items over to your new home in canada [ie] family pictures , ornaments , kids toys etc?
im only asking this because we are selling all of our main stuff in the house and it will only be the small and meaningful stuff which we will want to bring with us?
Any advice?

We did the same, just shipped 50 boxes (I think CBM is cubic meters) and they were here in around 6 weeks. Cost us around EUR 500 from Amsterdam to Chicago. We brought one suitcase with toys for our 3 year old which was enough to tide her over.

Yep cubic meters. We have approx 4 and prices we received was 3cbm.........................£888.00
5cbm.......................£1349.00
although estimate and need to know our address didn't think prices was bad as expecting a lot more

I'm planning on using BA's unaccompanied baggage service -

Don't know how much it's gonna cost yet though...
