Diary explains every step. We flew from Heathrow to Ontario in May 2018 with 3 dogs.

While I appreciate some may wish to go it alone, our story may provide some insight into how things can go wrong. We brought two Rottweilers to Calgary. Our flight was scheduled to fly from London to Calgary. Shortly after take off, the plane developed an issue and we were redirected to Glasgow. We deplaned and sat around the airport for what seemed like an eternity before it became apparent that they couldn't fix the plane.

The airline then put us up overnight and, the next day, we flew on to Calgary. The pet transport company we used kept in touch throughout the entire process and they managed the dogs. I dread to think what would have happened had we had to get hold of the dogs ourselves, transport them to whatever hotel would have taken them, and then rinse and repeat the next day. I appreciate that this is unlikely to happen but....
