I think the usage is generally accepted. Some years ago I was given something called a "Palm Pilot" to give away in a draw at a trade show. I hadn't heard of one before but since a previous gimmick had been logo condoms I assumed it to be some sort of mastabatory device.

I puzzled for a moment over the form of words to use "wanna win a dildo?" didn't seem the sort of thing one could say to a passer-by and potential client so I settled on "would you like to enter a draw for a small hand held electrical appliance?". Women, loving my accent, giggled and signed up in droves. They all caught on to the idea.

Discovering that a Palm Pilot was just a piece of pocket geekery deeply saddened me.

Oh, and I can put this on topic. I had no work permit to sell from a booth in the US, I was one of them illegal aliens!

Ha. For years whenever I worked in a no-sales-tax state I'd have a delivery to the hotel. Very often I'd turn up with the Unix guy and the desk clerk would hand me a package labelled "VSC" sniggering as he did so. Fortunately the Unix guy is gay indifferent.
