Nobody will question her nationality or whether she's a citizen or permanent resident. Tell her to go and enjoy herself.

This deserves to be a much bigger story.

You're in Lanzarote and you come to Toronto on holiday. Isn't that the wrong way around? ;)

Where's the bingo in Toronto? .I bet the old man would like to do that while we're there next month.

Re: bingo

Is bingo popular in Canada? Is it classed as gambling? Could you arrange a bingo night for a school fund raiser? I've never played it, but it seemed to be popular in lots of bits of Europe.

Re: bingo

Does 'proper bingo' actually exist outside the UK?

To be authentic it has to be played in a northern town, in a converted cinema or at the seaside.

Preferably all three.

Oh and you're only allowed to drink pints of bitter (women included) and you must be at least twice the healthy weight for your size.

Chips must be served. In a bap. With margarine.

It's very popular in here Qc, where it's classed as gambling & you'd need a permit from the powers-that-be for a fundraiser unless it took place under the auspices of an existing Bingo permit holder.

I was (probably still am) a bit bemused by its popularity here; I'd never played until I moved here. Twice was enough... ;).

You said you played twice. I assumed you went back for the second one. :)

I volunteer helping at bingo. It's big here.

We are a charity and as we volunteer, we get a share or the profits.....

Where I am, the numbers only go to 75 - no 2 fat ladies here :--(

But like I say, it's big.....

I remember volunteering at Bingo for cadets. My god it was boring. No chatter or laughter, no 2 fat ladies or legs 11 or two little ducks going on. All very serious.

Any body-checking?
