Re: The best place to live in Canada
I didn't realize I had to live in them all to have an answer. I have been to most of them, know people from all of them. Go to Brandon, see if I'm kidding.

iaink - odd you would say that as the list seems correct as per the 2010 article in MoneySense see screendump

Montreal by far is the best place and has the best people in canada.
I honestly believe as most people from the USA said that french canadians
are very nice and friendly people.

Re: The best place to live in Canada
When you look at the overall results for lifestyle in the original publication its
1 Ottawa - Gatineau ON
2 Victoria BC
3 Fredericton NB
4 Kingston ON
5 Levis QC
6 Moncton NB
7 Winnipeg MB
8 Burlington ON
9 Halifax NS
10 Vancouver BC
Not sure what Jane is on about in her listing at muchmore...
The methodology of the study is quite interesting. I expect youve lived in all those provinces before reaching your sweeping generalisations!

First of all this listing is not my listing, nor has it been culled as you suggest in a earlier post.
I have no idea where you got your list from as it is incorrect and I take offence from you suggesting that the list we published on Muchmor is incorrect. This is a survey direct from Moneysense who have used many different criteria for coming to this conclusion.
Obviously everyone has their own opinion on where the best place to live is we just try to give our thousands of readers the information as it becomes available from various sources.

My apologies, I guess I had last years listings. Which just goes to show how these things change.
What list you get also depends which heading you focus on, prosperity, lifestyle etc etc.
Interesting that Wood Buffalo is #1 for income, #20 for discressionary income, #2 for new cars, 3rd for Unemployment... on paper really attractive. But overall despite that its ranked 145th!
