I am only AAT qualified. I need to decide whether it is worth doing ACCA or CIMA here, or wait until I move to Canada to do CGA?

Thanks for everyone's comments and suggestions!
I am CIMA and easily transferred to CMA here. Do you want tax and audit or more strategic stuff?

BC maybe the place, look at Van Island and that area. I've never been but the scenery pics on "last pic taken" thread are worth a look.

I will have a look, BC does look great! Just looking for people's recommendations

Maybe I am being picky, afterall I want to be near mountains and lakes and I want a job in accounting with affordable housing

Housing isn't cheap in BC but you pay more for the scenery.

We had a similar wish list and chose the Okanagan; very close to the lake and less than an hour from the ski resorts. We don't move for another 3 months so too soon to say if we chose well! Good luck.

Tax and Audit is what I have more experience in here in the UK.

Not sure whether it is best to just do CGA as I do not want to put myself through 3/4 years of study for CIMA if it is better to do CGA?

Thanks for advice

I'm glad it's tax & audit she wants if her strategic skills are exemplified by the thread title.

Tar ponds. Unemployment. Misery. It's attractive in the same way as, say, Bradford; it's cheap to live there and the nearby countryside is nice.

Can I ask why you say Iqaluit? What is good about it?

Thanks
Iqualuit was for a while the default answer when people asked this open ended question on this forum.

Canada is a vast and varied country, without more information on what you are looking for in life its impossible to answer sensibly. Hence Iqaluit.

It's a general question for general opinions. If you haven't got anything useful to say then don't say anything.

I thought that too but I have read a lot that it is not transferable, CIMA is more so but also have to think about the state of things in 3 years time. I am in discussions with a few Accounting firms over there and no one still really seems to know

I know there are a great number of places to look at, just wanted a general feedback

If you type in the best place to live in Canada, it nearly always comes up with Calgary, so I just wanted a general feedback from expats in Canada as to their view! thanks for suggestions anyway
