Hi,

I am just trying to evaluate the working conditions in Canada.
I obviously know what to expect hear in the UK.
Having lived in Australia for a few years I was comparing.
In Australia the employer has to pay 9% of your salary in pension,has to provide 10 days sick leave a year,minimum of 4 weeks holiday and long service leave which after 10-15 years service equates to 3 months paid leave.Plus medical cover is fully paid, no need for top-ups from your employer.
Is their something I have missed or are Canada`s working benefits very poor?

No, you havent missed anything, minimum legally protected benefits are minimal, similar to the US.

You do well at your job, you will be rewarded, you dont, you are on your own. Canada at least has EI, CPP and provincial medical coverage.
