Bell versus Rogers
Hi all
We have just arrived in Fredericton and are in a bit of a quandary about internet/ tv/ telephone bundles. Bell is offering us a deal of $99/ month for the first 3 months and $155/ month thereafter with a wait of 2/3 weeks before hookup.....seems very expensive after European fees of €30/ month for everything. Rogers is offering the same bundle for $99/ month total with immediate hookup....sounded a lot better....until I talked to a few people .....all of whom have been totally negative about Rogers. Are there any other choices in the area, anybody have anything good to say about Rogers except that they are a lot cheaper. I must say I don't actually mind coming to McDonalds for an early morning coffee and check of e-mails but it would be a little harder to carry out all my online stuff here. Thanks |

Just checked out Telus... much better deals available with them then the others. Cheers from HTDA |
Re: Bell versus Rogers
you can talk to 100 people and 50 will despise bell and 50 will despise rogers. both are huge and make mistakes.
I use Bell for my wireless service and other than a few billing errors have had no issues whatsoever in the 3 years I have been using them. I use Rogers for my internet and cable TV and again other than 2 billing errors I haven't had a problem with them either. both are expensive, compared to the UK but as far as reliability of service goes I have no complaints. I was recently looking to move my internet to somebody else who provides no traffic cap, but even though it would have been cheaper it would have also bought my overall speed down by a quarter, even if running at the optimum advertised speed, which rarely happens. |
Re: Bell versus Rogers
I had Rogers for 5 years or so for TV and Internet. Tortuous to deal with and make sure that at the end of your first years contract you ring up and tell them you are cancelling so that they offer you another deal to stay. Otherwise you'll get screwed.
Last year we switched to Bell FibreOP - fibre to home. That might be available in Fredricton. It's superfast 30/30 internet with no cap which is pretty good. We pay around $129 a month + phone calls. Internet/Telephone/TV is way more expensive in Canada than in Europe irrespective of who you use. |
Re: Bell versus Rogers
I'm on FibreOp with BellAliant (home phone, internet 30/30 and tv)
