Sanctions for Canada are due but it seems its not gonna happen?!Why?

I reckon all tourists should avoid Canada for this reason....and beat the shit of any scum "hunter" when you have the chance.....(just my opinion)

What's your opinion on the indiginous populace's rights to hunting or do you just have an issue with blood hungry tourists? I think there's a vast difference between the two.

I see from your profile you've chosen to settle in Amarante. You presumably therefore don't have a problem with Portugal's attitude towards sticking swords and spears into distressed bulls and tormenting them until they bleed to death in front of a crowd of thousands? Perhaps, to turn a Biblical phrase, you should consider the plank in your own eye before bleating about the mote in ours?

Think about the polar bears too...what do you think is going to happen as their winter hunting territory shrinks due to global warming? Either you cull them so that the ones left have enough food to survive the summer, or you let much larger numbers die of starvation, or you live with the constant threat of 1000lb hungry predatory bears coming into Churchill and picking off the straglers. Fun isnt it.

Its not how I would choose to spend my time, but I can see why its necessary.

What about how the various levels of government in Canada treat people experiencing poverty? people with mental illnesses? First Nations peoples? people living in Bountiful, BC? Do these people need to be covered in soft fluffy white fur and have big black puppy eyes to get your attention?

The problem is the latter.....hunting for food is one thing but hunting for so called sport is sick! At 30.000 dollars a licence is obviously only about money, its not like the indiginous can afford that is it?!

I have to agree with the poster that the seal hunt is wrong and have signed all the petitions to have it banned BUT I would not avoid going to Canada or change my decision of wanting to emegrate there because at the end of the day what country is perfect?
