banking saskatoon!
Hi All
Due to go to Saskatoon shortly and I am looking around for a good bank in which I can transfer my funds from the uk to sask, I rang hsbc today but they told me it would take five weeks and I would need to deposit $1500 to open an account!
Is this the norm or can anyone recomend a good bank, I am changing my uk money via hifx is this a good move? Thanks for your help....

The only people I know who have come here recently were with HSBC and I am sure that they had more than $1,500 to deposit.

It seems a long time just to open an account, I will probably be best going to the banks in person once I get there.

Yes I misunderstood. That is what they did I believe. At least they went down to the bank a couple of days after they got here so I assume they were setting up their bank accounts.
