Re: Bank Accounts
I pay a tenner for a draft in CAD from HSBC, and 17 GBP if I want my CAD wired directly to my HSBC Canada account.
Amazed how wildly the info from them differs! Seems they're losing a lot of custom by giving out the wrong rates and the wrong charges  |

Hi we are in process of updating our records as requested and we have now the 60 day waiting. we have been in this process for 2 years, and hopefully reaching the end (there is light at the end!).
We would like any information about opening a bank account, so we can transfer some funds, as the exchange rate seems good. should we use HSBC as they are international bank(i think) or should we look into another bank - any help would be good, has anyone else done this! many thanks for your help sarah http://www.hsbcdirect.ca/1/2/hsbc-direct/learn-more Jon |

hi steve666
many thanks for your reply. this HSBC account you have opened, was this via over the internet or did you go into your local HSBC in the uk and open it? Before we moved to BC, we opened an account at HSBC Vancouver. We had to go to our local branch at home, and fill out a special form, which "recommends" you to the canadian HSBC. On arrival HSBC Vancouver were excellent, much more effiecient than the UK, we are still with them and very happy. |
Re: Bank Accounts
Us too, the branch we set up with (Granville & Broadway) were incredibly helpful and it's like a breath of fresh air being able to call your account manager AT THEIR DESK any time you want.
Almost makes the minefield of Canadian banking fees worthwhile! Cheers, Iain |
