Banff / Jasper hotels

Hi,

My husband and I are travelling from Calgary to Edmonton ,via the Banff / Jasper route this July.

Can anyone recommend any nice (reasonably priced) hotels or any other stay over locations in Banff / Jasper?

Any advice greatly appreciated.
:)

In Banff you may like to consider Charltons Cedar Court or The Mount Royal. The Rimrock is also Very nice as is The Banff Springs.

First two lower priced, second two outside the main town and more expensive BUT often have great deals.

When we go to Jasper we stay at the Jasper House Bungalows, nice wooden chalets, basic but comfortable. Some rooms have cooking facilities but there is a restaurant for all meals which is good. It is just a short drive into Jasper. :)

When I visited Jasper last year, I stayed at the Lobstick lodge. Very comfortable, nice restaurant and not expensive. You could certainly do much worse.

Can't help with Jasper, but when we went to Banff we stayed at the Caribou Lodge. Nice hotel with restaurant, very reasonably priced and excellent location - just a short walk to the middle of the town.

one of my friends has just booked a cheap hotel deal in Banff for a 2 night stay using www.hotwire.com - might be worth checking out. She said it was the cheapest deal by far!

Have just come back from Banff today and stayed at the Brewsters mountain lodge hotel. Reasonably priced and staff very friendly. Hotel was nice and in a fantastic location, right in the middle of Banff.
Spent the night in the Rose and Crown, hence the rather delicate head!!

We stayed at the Sawridge Inn in Jasper. We'd stay there again.
