back ground check again ?
 

Dear Andrew miller ,
I have done my second medical examination after one year ,
in april .at that time my background check were ready,
now I recived a reply to my fax that my file pending background check,also after I sent them my updatedpolice certificate.
I want to know if it is routine ,that background check be expired?\

How did you know back in April that your background/security check was done? It
obviously wasn't.

they probably came across someting in your background that they feel needs to be investigated more thoroughly... and no, asking them what it is will not get you a response, the background check process is very hush hush, and noone really knows what they check for...

there is nothing you can do about it but wait.

If you are or were a citizen or resident of certain countries, notably the Middle
East and South Asia you can expect very lengthy delays due to 9/11.

Dear Andrew miller,
I should let you more infomed about my file process
I did my interview in march 2001 in tehran with the rest of my family,because I was eavaluated as an independant ,they seperate my file from my family, and gave me new file number,my family got theire visa on feb 2002,and I got a letter that they have asked me for my medical result,and police certificate :
My medical result was lost !!, fortunatly they found it in my mothers file.at that time they replied me:
"your file pending background check" 1st feb 2002
I asked them again about my file in April 12,2002 and informed them about the expiration of my medical result they replied
" Background review still in process "
on 24th of april they sent me new medical forms and asked me for another IMM0008 and some new photos,
and in june the 10th 2002 ,in reply to my fax they said"
File pending medical result "
on 21st of july they asked me for another police certificate ,and after i sent it on 6th of Aug to them they replied " Background review still in process " .

I would appriciate your comments.

I'm sorry but there is nothing really to comment - background/security check is not
concluded yet and that is all. Such check is being conducted outside and
independently from immigration authorities by Canadian security agencies and until
results are back immigration can't do anything.

I am curious to know at which stage of the PR application does the Canadian security
agencies initiate such background and security check? i.e. Soon after PR application
submission, after ROLF submission, after medical check etc.

It varies from too many factors to list here - visa post, nationality and country of
residence are among those. But usually such security check is initiated after file
assessment.
