Default Avoid Whistler/Squamish

Not much moving on the sea to sky for a few days. An area to avoid.

A two hour drive has just become a 6 hour detour or an expensive plane/helo ride.

How Scary

Miracle everybody is okay.

Does this happen very often? Are they likely to close the road in the long term??

They don't know for sure is anyone is underneath, but it seems not. Forecast to open the road right now is 2 - 4 days.

- Update to 5 day closure now as Fisheries won't let them move the rocks away by barge, has to go by road.

Can't do that, it'd cripple the economy of the Lower Mainland. No doubt Intrawest Corp will be very twitchy about this.
