Good grief. Mine aren't anywhere near that, and I have two kids and numerous pets! Plus our mortgage is £500 a month more than your rent.

Granted, your Waitrose habit will account for some of that, but I am gobsmacked that you spend that much each month, even in London.

If you like the finer things in life, then surely Toronto will be just as expensive? Remember it's been a few years since you've lived there, prices of pretty much everything has gone up globally, not just in London.
