Anyone recently used Air transat for their dog?
Hello, as the title suggests, anyone recently used Air transat for sending their dog to Calgary, we have had a good price but just want to check.
Thanks in advance.

I haven't sent recently but am sending soon, and I'm going to Calgary with 2 dogs and 2 ferrets. I am using air trans but it's through a pet agency.

I am using Skymaster based at Manchester Airport - they were a lot cheaper than Air transit but she is not going direct.
They have been really good to deal with so far.

Yes we flew our Great Dane by air transat, we had to use a pet carrier, we used Par air, they were by far the cheapest. We met them at the cargo area at Gatwick airport so he wasn't kennelled for the evening. Par air insisted we met them early in the morning, but air transat let us take our dog for a walk for an hour or so so he didn't have to stay in his crate for hours. The staff were excellent and the plane staff were really nice, they even came and told me they had took water to him to make sure he was ok before we flew and that the pilots constantly checked the hold temperature to make sure he was ok. However, when we got to Calgary all was not well. Customs were in no hurry to sign his paperwork off and left him for 2 hours before he could be taken to the cargo dept for collection. The road is closed so it is a long way round to pick up point and you will need a car, once you have gone to the cargo pickup and collected the dogs paperwork you then need to go back to the airport to get the paperwork signed by customs and pay in CASH the customs processing fee and then go back again to get the dog!!! It took 15 hours from UK to hand over and our dog was very tired. Most of the stress was caused at Calgary airport. If you want any further advice please private mail me.

Seems like the hassle and delays at the Canadian end is par for the course, then. We had the exact same experience (well, considerably worse, even) but in Toronto.
