I'm probably your nearest BE neighbour, OP, at a mere 275km away. 
I'm in PG fairly regularly but generally just for the day...and when 6hrs of that day is spent driving to/from it doesn't leave much time for meeting up, unfortunately!

I am on the brink of taking a leap over the ocean towards Prince George BC with a job offer and LMO in progress. If you could let me know anything important about the place I would be very appreciative, as I have little knowledge of the place as such ,only what the internet tells me, which seems to be don't go to Prince George
But it looks amazing and i am looking forward to the adventure.

I'm from the UK (Well Scotland actually :-))
I've been here for almost 8 years now and I love it!
I have a few very good Canadian friends and I can empathise with you that it is difficult, if you don't have contacts.
I'd suggest looking at facebook groups in PG (depending where in this vast landscape of a city you live), or join some groups, like a Snowmobile or quad club.
There is a whisky tasing group somewhere up here as well! ;-)

Hello - I'm new to this forum and in the Central Cariboo region near Williams Lake. Been here for 8 years and love it.
