Anyone live in Sudbury?
Just out of interest, quite a few places have been chucked at us while we are starting the ball rolling with a Canada move...
Sudbury is one of the places mentioned regarding work for hubby... I am obviously researching lots of places myself, but there's nothing like advice from people who know is there?
So! If anyone has any advice/experience of this place, then it would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Re: Anyone live in Sudbury?
Hello! Thank you for replying! My husband is a truck mechanic, we are a family of 8 (6 children) Is it a good place to bring up children, much to do? Is it a nice place? High/low crime? Good schools? I have no info on exactly where in Sudbury we would be looking to be so I'm sorry for being maybe too general lol
It's very early days for us really, but I would like to cross off places that are going to be a big fat no, and gather info to find some yes yes yes places! Ha! There are other places we are looking at too, but Sudbury is one where I have not seen much info on, here... Trying to work out if that's for a reason!!!
Ooooosh! It's so hard all this... If we do end up here we will be there for a couple of years at least.... That's a long time to be somewhere you wished you wasn't if it turns out that way isn't it?!
Many thanks for your help! I have read things about Sudbury online, but would be lovely to get an opinion from someone who lives/lived or has been there!

I have heard varying opinions on Sudbury, but will leave it to those who have lived there to comment.

Thank you for the videos.... I'm so stupid, I never even thought of looking for videos to give me a better picture!

One of my friends is from Sudbury, she thinks it's a nice place although very cold during the winter. But it's primarily a mining town. French is widely spoken, although English is the dominant language.

My friend and neighbour is from Sudbury originally. She talks about it longingly but her boys are here so even though she's single again she won't go back.
If you move there it doesn't have to be for ever but it gives you a chance to look at other places whilst being here.
Good luck

Re: Anyone live in Sudbury?
Sudbury is grim. As Novo points out you would have to be living somewhere pretty dire in the UK to prefer Sudbury. There is the "Big Nickel" (to save googling it is a big nickel) and a rather scary mining exhibit. They take you underground to a pretend mine and then fake a mining disaster etc. Quite impressive in terms of the effect it had on the large number of small children who were reduced to tears with no easy way out. Apart from this I can't think of anything to recommend the place (I have relatives there btw - they have an abadoned drive in cinema in their garden - that is rather cool too).
