anyone from Duncan bc
Hello ,we are on our way soon & we are looking at the Mill Bay, Cobble Hill & Duncan areas. We have two young kids (schools) & i will be working in & around the Victoria area.We have noticed that house prices are a lot lower the futher you go up Highway 1 so we are tempted but dony want to be to rural as walking to some shops/schools would be good ,any suggestions would be very welcome,ta.

Hi Eastlands, we are in Cobble Hill and love living here! Schools in the area are good and there are lots of out of school sports and activities for the kids to do. The school website for this area is http://www.sd79.bc.ca/ and you can check out schools on there. Our kids have been to Cobble Hill Elementary, George Bonner Middle School and now one is at Cowichan Secondary as it is a more sports school and the other is at Frances Kelsey as that is a more arts/drama school. Both are happy with their respective choices and are doing well at school.
House prices are cheaper here than Victoria and their are lots of people who commute to either Victoria or Nanaimo. The main communities in the South Cowichan Valley are Cobble Hill, Shawnigan Lake, Cowichan Bay, Cowichan Station and Mill Bay. Hope this helps.

Hi we live in Ladysmith a little bit further up than Duncan you may like to look around Maple bay area, not far from Duncan .Duncan is about the least expensive to by property in that area, but personally I would not wish to live in Duncan,Cobble hill is a nice area and a little closer to Victoria, good luck.
