Default Any VPNs still work for BBC/ITV?

After 5 happy years together, our VPN started to fail. We nursed and coaxed it through the last few weeks of life, coughing and spluttering, but it has finally gone asystole, and no amount of cardiac massage or drugs is bringing it back.

So...the question is, does anyone have experience of which VPN companies are actually working at the moment to enable us to watch BBC? Not so worried about netflix. It all seems a bit hit and miss at the moment.
Thanks in advance

I use Hide My Ass for BBC, ITV and SKY Go without any problems.

We still use unblockus. Not had any problems.

Edited to add that tonight we could not log in to Netflix - so seems there are problems there, but both ITV and BBC are playing without any problems

I watch live BBC/ITV on Camposat.Tv (I know it's not a VPN but it's free and it works).

FilmOn, Camposat...different names for the same thing, probably other names too.

The 'live' aspect can be tricky for some but there has to be some down side living on the West Coast.

Yep...you can't beat free. H.M. A. is also a good one too as mentioned above.

Thanks for all your replies. We do use Camposat from time to time, but usually by the time we get to sit down, it is back to back shopping channel. We have got a free trial on uno telly now which is working great for the time being. We recently got an android box with kodi/exodus. It works great for a lot of things, but for some reason even with a vpn on and a British account, we cannot load the British tv apps. The box seems to be stuck telling us we are in Romania which is a bit erse! (we have reset the regions etc, but it keeps going back) Anyhow, we seem to be keeping up with 'the game' for now.

Even with Unotelly on, weird.

Download Hola app and use to download British apps.

You can also look for the apk file version of the apps which will side load not needing google play or geoblocking

"Even with Unotelly on, weird."

Yes, I think it is somehow built into the Android OS. Anyway, I will try Hola and see what happens. Thanks!

What skin are you using on the android, Confluence? Have you tried going into system - appearance - international and changing to where ever you are?

Sorry if i'm teaching your mother to suck eggs.

I had the free trial. Maybe it was just the trial version not as good as the real thing but I was unimpressed enough not to bother.

Seriously, mordvpn is good, but theres a truth about vpn's tou have to understand. You encrypt the conversation between your device and their server. This means that your isp - service provider - cant tell what sort of data it is, they therefore tag it as browsing data which is lower priority=speed than streaming video. Its normal to only get 10-25% of the performance of your connection working over vpn, and thats nothing to do with the power of the vpn's connections/servers, its your isp dissing your data. There is no solution apart from realising that actually streaming video isnt very big. If your connection is stable... I have rock steady 12mb, i can easily stream 1080hd in 1mb, but not 4k... If i exit the vpn i can of course easily stream 4k, but lots of channels are of course blocked. Nordvpn provide a range of servers in each location dedicated to streaming video, their addresses etc change frequently but you dont need to know, their apps deal with that in background.

Importantly they are norwegian owned but panama registered, and operate logless. They are out of us and eu jurisdiction...
