Another medical question
 

Some friends of mine have asked me this question and as I have no idea, I thought I would pose it here to see if others can advise so here is their question:

"Some friends who want to emigrate have all passed medicals except 3 year old sent for further assessment. He has a mild heart murmur the uk specialist says he is growing out of and a kidney problem. My friends dont know what it is but he has daily medication. Do you think they stand a chance?"

Incidentally, I don't know the whole story, but I understand the husband has been offered a job here as a welder. This couple have three teenagers, the 3 year old and a baby. My friend told me that they are broke and so they are going to let these people live with them until they get some money together. I might have got the ages and the story a bit wrong but I would have thought that even if you have a job, you would have to also have a certain amount of money before you were allowed to emigrate, don't you?

I've told my friend that I think they are insane inviting 7 people to live with them. My friends have a 19 year old son and have a 3 bedroom house which is half an hour from the city!! I think I would murder the lot of them within a week!!

Sounds like a crazy plan if ever I heard one. I think your friend will very quickly regret making the offer.

I told her - its a good way to lose friends! My sister once said she was going to let a friend of hers stay with her for "a couple of weeks until she found a job". My comment - suppose she doesn't find a job! And she didn't. She and my sister had a row over use (abuse) of my sister's house and they are not friends any more.

Still, have to see what someone here says about their chances of getting into Canada on PNP with a kid with a medical problem.

I can't comment on the kidney problem but my daughter had a heart valve replaced 3 years ago, she now has heart murmers, but is fit and well but has never needed medication .
She does see a specialist once a year and will need surgery at some time in the future we took uptodate info. from UK and Canadian consultant and she passed the medical without further assessment.
Each case is treated individually however so I can only give you our experience.

On the question of settlement funds, you don't need proof of funds if you are coming to an arranged job (eg on a TWP), so I imagine it's the same for PNP applicants.

Whether it's sensible to just arrive with a big family and no funds is another question.
