Accused by several posters on here of taking hefty deposits from clients and not following through with the work. After a bit of bluster from an apparent alter ego he stopped posting.

jeeeeez.....i cant believe this!
i just saw this posting today and nearly fell off my chair!

for this guy (andrew miller) is the very same person who was giving me supposedly solid advice when i was in 2 minds about emigrating etc!

and even at that time, i did notice some decidedly flippant comments he made on here......
and to think some people actually may have dwelt on every single suggestion he made.....god!

oh well.....caveat emptor i think they say......!

Now running an immigration business out of the US by the looks of it:

http://andrewmillercanada.com/contact.html

No mention of being CSIC registered I note (https://www.csic-scci.ca/).

According to the CSIC his membership has been revoked.

Miller Andrew M041188 Revoked — Membership criteria not met 2008-12-02

Perhaps someone should make a complaint to CIC with regards to him not being a CSIC member and yet still practicing? I wonder, though, that perhaps he is a lawyer "in good repute" with the law society and thus doesn't need to be a member of CSIC in order to practice as an immigration consultant?

Has anyone actually made a formal complaint about him?

Probably - he allegedly ripped off several posters on here and then absconded to china with their money or something. You can probably find this info on here if you can be arsed to search for his posts (assuming they haven't been purged - I remember the first thread that started his fall from grace got deleted, not sure about others).

The use of English on the website it appalling. It reads like something that has been rushed through a translation. Perhaps he is still in China?

Being bored, I searched all of the provincial law societies and there is no trace of an Andrew Miller. (You'd think there would be one or two, but there's not).

I wonder therefore, that perhaps he was a crook?

<gasp>

Funny thing....I have no idea how accurate his answers were for the situations on which he commented, but I was always struck by what seemed a lack of sugar coating; almost discouraging would be applicants.

Almost the opposite to the false promises normally associated with this sort of thing.

He answered my first post on here accurately.

He was a respected poster on here for a reason, and I doubt many (if any) had their suspicions about him.

Re: Andrew Miller

Given that those who are thinking about emigrating to Canada usually have a little bit extra in the way of education and general smarts, I am amazed that they resort to "immigration consultants."

On a recent trip to the U.K., I saw posters on London buses advising people about U.K. immigration consultants-the posters were very clear: all the advice and information needed to seek residence status in the U.K. was available free from the U.K. government. More precisely, hiring said consultants gives no advantage or back door entrance.

He answered a few of my queries very well and pushed me in the right direction to obtain PR after I was on WP with too few points.

I have to admit I didn't until not long before the wheels fell off. But I always wondered why he was allowed to not-so-subtly tout for business on here.
