am i the only one who looks like ive just spent the whole day a smokn' the green, green grass of home? I want to take razor blades to my eyes to scratch them and am irritated as hell. Sorry to any of you who were on the other end of the telephone when i answered "...what the hell do you want and how can i provide you with excellent friggn service today...."

I use to use Zirtek in England which seemed to do the trick and over here am using a similar tablet but its doing nought.

Any suggestions would be great.

Was told that eating honey from a local beehive all year long was the best way to get you body "vaccinated" to local triggers.

I think I am allergic to a mix of things. I believe at the moment Aspen pollen is at an all time high. I seem to have improved a bit from yesterday. I have heard about the honey thing too.I will give it a go for next year.

Get a referral to an allergy specialist.

A friend of mine also swears blind that aromatherapy cleared up a whole swath of his allergies, might be worth a shot, but not covered by OHIP of course, unlike the allergy specialist.

Not a lot of help I know, but you have my sympathy.

We had a bit reaction/allergy whatever you want to call it a couple of mths ago when the spring started. We used Benadry in UK and tried Claritin (get the test trial pack) here and have not had any eyes on barb wire or rudolph noses etc since.

You can sometimes up the recommended dosage safely. I did this with Zirtek when the normal dosage didn't work for me (I found the info on the net but checked with my doctor beforehand). Also different countries have different dosages in their pills so maybe you should see a doctor/pharamacist about getting something similar to the UK Zirtek.

My allergies were driving me nuts until my doctor gave me Flonase... Ahhhh!!! :p

I use Allegra. I found that the once a day didn't work but the one that you take every 12 hours has gotten rid of almost any signs of allergy. (In the Netherlands it is called Telfast in case you know it from Europe)

A good start might be to see an allergist - this way you can pin-point what it is that is giving you the problems. Flonase, Beconase and other nasal sprays are great. Natural remedies such as local honey and cidar vinegar might also prove helpful.

I wasn't paying attention, so I completely mis-read the first bit of your post. It was only when I got to the " take every 12 hours" bit that I went back for another look.
