Few is used to emphasize how small a number of people or things is
Fewer is the comparative form of few, so if you’re talking about a smaller number of people or things, you should use fewer with a plural noun

Use fewer if you’re referring to people or things in the plural (e.g. houses, newspapers, dogs, students, children).
Use less when you’re referring to something that can’t be counted or doesn’t have a plural (e.g. money, air, time, music, rain)
Less means ‘a smaller amount of; not as much’.Use less when you’re referring to something that can’t be counted or doesn’t have a plural (e.g. money, air, time, music, rain)

Yawn, I stand corrected. Too late in the day for this shit.
I blame the signs in supermarkets that say "10 items or less".

The question of whether to use 'fewer' or 'less' is so very simple to answer:
Can you count whatever it is you have a smaller quantity of?
Yes - use 'fewer'
No - use 'less'
Thus fewer beaches, less sand. Fewer dollars, less money. Fewer hairs, less hair. Fewer raindrops, less rain

I don't agree with this comment either, now that I've just noticed it.
I was quite surprised to discover a lot of people think Alberta is a good place to retire to as it has lower taxes.
I know Edmonton is a bit further from the mountains but there's plenty to attract people here, try visiting Brandon or the entire province of Saskatchewan. You think the weather is tough here...
Overall I think Calgary is the best place to live in Canada. I like Ottawa a lot but the job market is a bit iffy and the taxes are higher and it snows a lot more there. Often people tell me that the Okanagan Valley has better weather, but it is overcast during the winter (because it's a valley) which would get me down and it's not as large as Calgary but still quite isolated. And I like Victoria too but being cut off from the mainland would just wind me up.
I think Edmonton is a physically better looking city with the Saskatchewan River but it's colder and a bit more blue collar than Calgary and the airport has less flights.

....and resolved never, ever, to visit Saskatchewan.

Yes I formed a similar opinion, however the book Beauty Tips from Moose Jaw did give me a different perspective.
