Air Freight from UK to Canada advice please!!
Hi there, we're leaving from Glasgow to head to Edmonton in a few weeks and have a box of stuff to ship over. Can anyone please recommend any shipping ideas for a small amount of stuff? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Others prefer courier say UPS, Fedex etc
Some bring it as excess baggage.
Normal air freight is expensive compared to others.

Hi Bryandd,
PSS International Removals specialise in overseas shipping and might be able to help.
For excess baggage to Canada they offer both a sea freight service (6-10 weeks) and an air freight service to arrival airport (7-14 days).
Send me a private message and I will give you their contact details.

If you only have a couple of boxes then try Air Transat Cargo or the airline you are flying with - you could also consider excess baggage if they don't weigh much.
It would be expensive to use a shipping company for so little.
Edit: Air Transat Cargo charged my son's friend less than £200 for around 100kg (2 very large boxes) from gatwick to Toronto. My son paid a similar amount for about 10 boxes a couple of years ago.. and the insurance cost is minimal. The only drawback of sending things air cargo is that you have to go to the cargo terminal to collect your belongings.
If your box doesn't weigh too much I would definitely consider excess baggage for the convenience, it averages at C$100 for the first piece over the free allowance.

You could also try parcel2go. FedEx through them is the cheapest. It's door to door service.

We used Parcels2go. Cheapest and quickest option.
They picked up 4 or 5 boxes on a Friday in UK and they were ready for collection here (Calgary) on the following Monday! Thet were sent via Fedex.
Just a note: I wouldn't recommend putting your finest china in there!
