After nearly 2 years on the market..............

Re: After nearly 2 years on the market..............
The banks have stopped lending to protect their capital reserves....the UK market is based on people borrowing lots to fund buying a house and therefore, fewer mortgages, fewer buyers, vicious circle resulting in prices dropping as sellers chase buyers. Banks then worry about negative equity and are less happy to lend....repeat.

Thanks! We've spent the last 7 months over here hoping for emails/calls from the estate agents back in the UK with news - now this morning we both decided that we don't want any emails or calls from them as it means something is amiss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were told also that a house that was on the market for half a million pounds also recieved an offer on Monday ..................
of £320,000
I don't think i'd have the nerve to offer that much below the asking - but it just goes to show how buyers now seem to be calling all the shots

We've been like that too!! We've received several phone calls from them in the month since we accepted the offer, and every time have had that "oooh no!" heart-stopping moment... and the most recent phone call was them saying that the buyer wanted to know if we were taking the curtains with us...!
Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for you from here.
