After interview?

My husband just had his interview for a Permanent Resident Visa (spousal class, overseas applicant)... I was wondering how long it might take for his passport request? (are background checks usually complete at this time?)

The interview went very well, so we are not worried about that! ;)

His medicals are already done and his right of landing fee paid.
