Advice needed please RE: Background/Declaration Form
 

Regarding the `Personal History' section of the Background/Declaration form, they want the past 10 years of my BF's life. He has had periods of unemployment and he is currently unemployed. We won't be submitting our Applications until next year so he should be working then.

Will this have a bearing on his Application being accepted/denied? (gaps between unemployment?)

I am also on a limited income, ODSP to be exact, but I do work part-time. Will this affect their approving my Sponsorship Application?


Any advice/help would be much appreciated, again.

i think the answer is no in both cases although i am unfamiliar with what
ODSP stands for.
In a sponsorship case your boyfriends work history is in effect irrelevant,
he could have nevr had a job in his life and he should be approved, his main
poitns of refusal are criminal inadmissability or medical inadmissability.
The personal history is just for background so dont worry if he has had
several jobs and been unemployed at times.
For a spousal case also there is no income requirement for you the sponsor.
However you should not be claiming any welfare benefits etc. So part time
work is fine. When my wife applied to sponsor me she had only just started
working full time and her 12 month history (you had submit a full financial
evaluation on the old forms) was various part time jobs and school etc and
she was approved with no issues.

I am on the Ontario Disability Support Program which is an Provincial long-term support program. (Ministry of Community, Family and Childrens' Services) It does allow me to work part-time or full time if and when I'm able.

Yes we I will be applying to sponsor him as my conjugal partner.

Well I'm so glad that your wife was approved even though she had just started working full time.

It does specificly mention in the manuals and things that benefits linked to
disability are ok when beign considered as a sponsor, so don't worry about
that.
