Go to a local registry office, hand in the the UK licence, pay the $62 dollars, get Alberta operators licence,it takes about 20mns roughly, make a copy of the paper counterpart BEFORE you get the Alberta licence as you will need it if you manage to find an insurer that will accept UK history!

No idea about returning to the UK and getting another UK licence,I won't be doing that if I can help it.

Bingo!

Copies are always advised :)

They don't reciprocate the motorcycle license usually, unless you get lucky! (i didn't)

As for the UK license, the DVLA will keep your entitlement on file, and also have a reciprocal agreement with Canada, so going back will just be a case of handing your Alberta license back to the DVLA and getting your UK one back

There would be if you haven't held a full licence for a minimum of 2 years prior to coming to Canada.
