Re: Advice on Adjusting in Canada in year 1

Hi

well i moved in BC with pregnant wife, 2 yo kid and a teenager, a prefect storm would say. But you see, altough is difficult move in a new country and the challenges are there, there is one thing you need to do, and is move on with the acceptance that is a different country. we all compare, but it does not help to settle. Am Italian, lived in germany, Uk, USA, and all the time i just embraced whatever was in there, sometimes looking for something that remind me my roots, but never looking for my roots in a new place, it would not make sense then move away from home.
Said that, is not easy and understand the frustration. One thing is try to attend the local communty events, try to socialize with locals, it helps.

1. The OP should also note that sausage casings from animals (there is zip casing which is not from an animal) is probably not importable to Canada

I'm thinking of a packaging supplies company but as dbd says there are other alternatives. I'd contact a meat processing place ( abattoir ) and ask where they get theirs or maybe they would sell you some.

I need to find a particularly dodgy photograph of sausage making that once graced the blog.

Yep - but the casings sold by Lakeland in the UK are synthetic so there's no problem.
