We love it here, but everyone is different. There has been loads of discussions about lifestyle here, if you just put "Nova Scotia" in the search box you will find many threads with masses of info.

Also, look in the WIKI schooling section and you will find a link to a kind of "league table" for high schools in the Atlantic provinces. Generally though, most people seem happy with the schooling as are we.

If there is any specific question you need to ask I will try to answer as will many others.

Climate - bloody cold at the moment - but really sunny so great as long as you wrap up warm.

Oh, and welcome to BE.

At the moment construction isn't doing well. From what I hear that goes for the entirety of Canada, but I know that in NS specifically, things are slow. However, once the recession is over it will likely go back to normal--which means lots of construction!

He is a steel fixer, he reinforces the concrete when they construct bridges and other concrete structures apparently in America they are called rod busters, he also has an excavation ticket(360), he has been in the industry for 24 years,

Am not sure if that is right? All the construction workers I know are up to their eyes in work!

I think construction is fairly good actually, there is building work going on everywhere, in all the new subdivisions and out here in Tantallon there is loads. Not to say that the construction I see is what he could do, but just to reflect what I have observed personally. Also looked after a clients recently who are married to men in construction - they seem well off and business is booming. But they are estalished Canadians, who knows what it is like for newcomers.

Anyway, just wrote a long thing on NS over on another similar thread, forgive me for being too lazy to repeat myself, I am headingto bed. But yes, NS is great, we love it here. But research it well and see if it is what you want as there have been lots of people recently who have come and left fairly soon after. I cant imagine why, but just know what you are exchanging for a new life here and make the move once!
