Hi,
Can a UK citizen adopt a child as an expat? Can anyone tell me where to go for more information on what the rules are?

This may be a good start....it's from the perspective of Americans living abroad but may give you some ideas. I don't think it should be a problem but there may be some challenges that you wouldn't otherwise face if you weren't an expat.

The website of your province/territory should have information, failing that consult a local family law practitioner.

Be aware that if you adopt a child , in order to get British citizenship for the child, an application for registration with the Home Office must normally be made before age 18.

Hi

We adopted our daughter from China in 2008 as permanent residents.
Happy to help with any info that I can and based on our experience I can say that it's definitely possible to adopt while in Canada!

we moved to Vancouver 2010 and we are now in the process of starting our second adoption from China, I would really be grateful for any help with regards to how this works when you are residents here, yet british Citizens.
