Adios Toronto...Hello NS
Well, I can't say I didn't try, but after 4 months in Toronto I realize that PR through the LMO/TWP route is not going to happen - my skillset is too vague, too general to suit the Canadian market (facilities operations management) in my job area. There's a lot of middle-management competition here, and employers seem reluctant to talk to you once they realize they have to jump through HRSDC's hoops to take you on.
With just 2-3 months of visa and funds left, I have decided to pitch in my lot with Margot at CoRDA in Truro. I've come to the conclusion that I need to retrain into a solid trade and I figure that if we can buy a share of an existing business, I can perhaps make it conditional of being given a job and training opportunity with it. Can't say I'm looking forward to this - it's all very uncertain and worrying. Leaving Friday morning for the 2 day drive...we'll see what happens. |
