Oh and yes- you will eat your words come next Jan / Feb.

But remember- there's no such thing as bad weather- only bad clothing. (ancient Finnish Proverb)
Not that bad, sometimes it is nice to get a breeze? It is not really a complaint!

Not really, the people in work are quite nice but don't appear to socialise a lot.

I came over a couple of months before my wife so took advantage to get to know the town centre's of Kitchener and Waterloo after dark, finding the odd watering hole. I met one Welsh guy once and that was all.

Got to slightly know one or two people but I find its difficult when your on your own.

My wife's been here 3 months now and we've been busy sorting things, we still haven't really got into the swing of things. She wants to find a fitness club (close as she doesn't drive) that does yoga.

Funnily enough though, she has started to make friends, she's Japanese and has found a few Japanese women in the area already.

So basically, I socialise when she takes me socialising .

I went to Waterloo back in July for a wedding. i have to say that out of anywhere I've been in North America it reminded me very much of an English town centre.

Especially that shopping precinct (farmers market?) opposite the Hotel.

That must be a woman thing because the people I have met my husband also follows to socialise. Yet in saying that he is going to the October fest in Kitchener and I will probably be looking after the kids.

Glad to hear all going well though.

Hi Bunnet and PeterF

I'm in Waterloo too so I thought I would just say Hi and Welcome!

Hope you are all settling in OK.

Actually it's a character in South Park - I haven't seen the episode, as I'm not really a fan of South Park, but one of my work colleagues was telling me about it and I liked the name. Al Gore is also in the episode apparently...
