Accountants finding work in Nova Scotia

Whilst I got my first job in a fluke way, it was for a small homely company with no controls, reporting, analysis etc etc BUT since then I have found that the way to find a decent job here as an accountant is to build your relationship wth a recruitment consultant in the accounting field. This is just like the UK., oh and you also need to be here for the best chance.

I got my second role this way and since then have discovered that qual accountants working for big companies are recruited this way ALOT, via a recruitment consultant.

Also although CIMA is a global qualification, no one knows what it is here. I have transferred easily to CMA.

I recommend Accountant Staffing and Meridia (part of Knightsbright Surette) both in Halifax

Just wanted to share.
